NICK HARPER - '58 Fordwych Rd' Album launch tour
8pm Earlybird tickets £17 / Standard £19
Nick Harper announces new tour and album '58 Fordwych Rd.', out September 26th.
It is nothing short of criminal, that Nick Harper is one the UK’s best kept musical secrets. Those who have witnessed the spellbinding, one-man show will tell you this. A childhood growing up surrounded by the musical prowess of some of the 60’s most revered songwriters & musicians, not to mention being son of Roy Harper, along with 20 years of crafting songs & touring the land has spawned a truly one-off, original guitarist & songwriter who stands alone as a UK great, to be cherished & revered.
Following a prolific creative chapter that has seen three studio releases since 2020, Nick returns to the setting of his father's living room in a small flat in Kilburn, London in the mid 1960s '58 Fordwych Rd.'. The flat was an after hours hang-out for the legends who played at Les Cousins in Soho at the height of the acoustic explosion in swingin’ sixties London. People like Bert Jansch, Davy Graham, John Renbourn, Paul Simon, Marc Bolan, Sandy Denny & others dropped in, to drop out, jam & try new tunes. But, all along, there was someone else there... a toddler, part of the family, inhaling the music & absorbing the vibe; Roy’s young son, Nick Harper.
Many moons later, Nick invited these acoustic legends back into the room and toured this unique story to ecstatic receptions across the UK and Ireland. Wary to not just entertain as a tribute, the craftsmanship and care of the repertoire Nick was handling was beyond tribute, Nick applying his own twists and deft performance swagger that only those who’ve earned their stripes possess. During a week-long residency at Edinburgh Fringe Festival, where the show picked up an EDFringe Award for best music, ‘58 Fordwych Rd.’ was recorded, capturing Nick at the height of performance prowess..
Fast forward to 2025 and Nick finds himself alongside Roy Harper headlining Glastonbury Festival and providing sideman duties at a trilogy of farewell concert hall shows. The narrative of ‘58 Fordwych Rd.’ continues to reverberate and so the live album of the same name had to see a release. The recording and show sees Nick delve into the deluge of songs he heard directly from the greats when growing up. Within, he plays tribute to the time, the place & to the music that became the centre of everything for him & the rest of this ‘family’.
‘Harper has so much musicianship in him it just leaks out all over the place.’ The Times
‘One of the finest guitarists of his generation, the Bard of Wiltshire’ Mojo
‘He deserves to become a major figure in his own right’ The Guardian
‘Dylan for the iPod generation…Betjeman with a guitar.’ Guitarist
‘My musical discovery of 2016!’ Tom Robinson, BBC 6 Music

Malvern's Secret War Heros
Tickets: £15 per person
Saturday 29th November 2pm
Come and enjoy this performance by Malvern Skyline Productions.
Set in the Bluebird tearooms in Malvern during World War 2, the locals are wondering who these 'outsiders' are, arriving in trucks with strange equipment set up in the back.
They wear spectacles and tweed jackets, and the girls appear to be just out of school. All they seem to do is wander around town, in groups, apparently showing no interest whatsoever in joining the war effort. They are reluctant to say why they have appeared.
Are they conscientious objectors, petty criminals or what?
Why have they arrived?
Also, why are they being billeted to local residents to accommodate them in their homes, often against their wishes?
As the story unfolds, all is eventually revealed.

SCOTT LAVENE
8pm Earlybird Tickets £14 / Standard £16
Last year’s album Disneyland in Dagenham was full of Essex, East End poetry, and classic English post punk. Following extensive touring including many sold-out shows, Scott is back with another album entitled, Cars, Buses,Bedsits and Shops out 22nd August on Nothing Fancy. An album bursting with more dark humour, snapshots of squalor and cheek, and Scott’s unique love songs. Lavene has also announced a 22 date tour around the UK as well as festival appearances at this year’s Glastonbury, End of the Road, Lakefest and Boia festivals.
Produced by Stew Jackson, who’s worked with Massive Attack, Black Crowes, Tom Waits and Nick Cave, the record shines with Scott’s presence, alongside Ryan Rogers of Mumble Tide, co-producing and playing organs, synths and mellotron. The album came together quickly, in a five-day wonder, in Bristol, September 2024. Scott’s longer story-based songs have taken a backseat on this record with more singing than before and a higher percentage of ballads, sincere, wistful and tender. They evoke the lyrics and feelings set down by Daniel Johnston and The Magnetic Fields, Evan Dando and the immense David Berman. But a few ratty stories still remain.
Once upon a time, he’d have found a home on Stiff Records, alongside Ian Dury and Wreckless Eric, even Jona Lewie, and he’d have become a national treasure: he really is a very good writer, with an eye for the telling detail Spectator
“Bonkers sing-alongs about eating custard, weird reimaginings of geezer-down the pub anecdotes, nostalgic vignettes, and even the occasional love song in disguise. Sometimes spoken, sometimes sung, he retains hooks, even when surveying the most curious terrain.” Artsdesk

JOHN BRAMWELL (I AM KLOOT)
8pm Earlybird Tickets £25 / Standard £26
As the singer in I Am Kloot from 1999 to 2014, John Bramwell achieved a Mercury Prize nomination for 2010’s The Sky At Night, a Top 10 chart position for 2013’s Let It All In, numerous UK and European tours and a triumphant farewell at the Queen Elizabeth Hall with an orchestra in 2014.
The stunning 2023 sophomore solo album, The Light Fantastic was an almost complete u-turn from the I Am Kloot outlook they were known for.The album received unanimous praise from the UK press but it is the all-encapsulating live show where Bramwell conjures up his true magic as songwriter and performer. Bramwell has been on a never-ending rolling adventure since his workings away from Kloot and in the last three years has visited almost every parish in England, Scotland and Wales to be met with halls, theatres, arts centres, churches, festival tents and folk clubs full with his eager fans waiting to see which direction Bramwell will take the mood of the night – the enriched, wildly playful inter-song banter is so good, a stand up comedy tour has been contemplated.
‘The regular harmonising with his cast of supporting musicians is especially beautiful’ CLASH
‘Wonderfully grown-up pop music delivered by an adept songwriter’ – MOJO
‘This is hazy music, with purpose, and very pretty with it.’ – The Times
‘A splendid solo set of sumptuous vocal harmonies’ – UNCUT
‘A unique voice both literally and metaphorically’ – Lauren Laverne
‘Bramwell’s new songs are spellbinding’ – The Guardian
‘My favourite songwriter of all time’ – Cate Blanchett
‘The UK’s finest export’ – New York Times
