Matthew Frederick

The Belated 'Fragments' Tour, Doors 8pm

Tickets £12

With numerous television, radio and festival appearances under his belt, alongside live shows in the UK, Europe and USA, Rhondda Valley musician and Climbing Trees frontman Matthew Frederick has racked up five albums, two EPs and sixteen singles to date across various projects in a career that has also seen him perform with the BBC National Orchestra of Wales, record at London’s legendary Maida Vale Studios and gain BBC Introducing, Radio 1 and 6 Music airplay as well as a Welsh Music Prize nomination. Following the 2020 release of his critically-acclaimed debut solo studio album ‘Fragments’ (including the single ‘Hay-on-Wye’) via Staylittle Music, an eventful 2021 witnessed the return of the Trees with ‘Troubling Times’, their first studio release in five years, ahead of a spontaneous sixty-six day solo expedition which saw Frederick become the first man from Penygraig to walk the coast of Wales, before rounding the year off on keys for Martin Carr of The Boo Radleys, with a nineteen-date UK tour stopping off at a sold out Brixton Academy as part of The Charlatans’ 30th Anniversary Tour.
