About the Globe
The Globe at Hay is an independent arts centre embracing an ever-changing arts landscape.
What makes up The Globe?
At The Globe at Hay, you will find our cosy and welcoming café and bar, run in collaboration with our Burger Me Restaurant. Our talented Head Chef has specially created a variety of delicious burgers guaranteed to get your taste buds tingling, alongside a huge range of side dishes, sharing plates, desserts and specials.
We also have accommodation with our Stay in Hay cottage. Our cottage is on the doorstep of the Globe and just a stone’s throw from the town centre.

Our Mission
Serving the local community is integral to our mission here at The Globe. We hope to curate a safe space for expression and culture to thrive in Hay-on-Wye and ensure that being based rurally is no barrier to exceptional events.
But don't take it from us - take it from our staff! We asked members of the Globe team what they think our aim is:

We are very proud of the range of events on our programme, including live music, film screenings, talks & debates, workshops and much more. We also believe in an art centre’s duty to work with its community and listen to feedback to ensure the programme is always diverse and relevant. So please feel free to get in touch.
The Festival
The Globe is proud to have been the birthplace of the internationally renowned music and philosophy festival HowTheLightGetsIn,, which first opened its doors to the public here.
Whilst it has since outgrown our space, moving down the riverbank of the Wye River, we are pleased to say that we maintain a strong relationship with the festival under our shared Founder, Hilary Lawson. Why not check it out this year, with big names like Nicola Sturgeon, Slavoj Žižek and Steven Pinker coming in May 2025.
