Hereford Gilbert and Sullivan Society - a 1940’s Concert Party Tribute

Making their first appearance in Hay-on-Wye following their 2019 production of “The Mikado” in March, Hereford Gilbert and Sullivan Operatic Society change gear to bring you a little nostalgia on their Summer Concert Tour.

Taking a trip down memory lane to the 1940’s, Hereford G&S’s ‘Concert Party’ presents a musical Tribute to D-Day, commemorating 75 years since the first Normandy landings with ‘songs that won the war’, including songs popularised by Dame Vera Lynn and the Andrews Sisters, some of Gilbert and Sullivan’s greatest hits, and music from one of the earliest Technicolor films on its 80th anniversary, ‘The Wizard Of Oz’.
